The DVW-970P is based on 2/3-inch Power HAD™ EX CCD imaging sensors, and features 14-bit A/D converters for superb picture quality. The camera looks identical to the new HDCAM F-900R and uses most of the same circuity with a superior CCD imager of 1,233,000 picture elements, twice as much as any other Digibeta camera.  This newest Digital Betacam adds even greater levels of image quality and production flexibility with the availability of 25P image capture.  This camcorder features a slow shutter feature (up to 16 frames) for "film-like" exposure control, unique effects shooting and extreme low-light shooting. Providing superior signal-to-noise ratio of 63dB  with -145 dB of vertical smear, the new camcorder also offers several option boards for even greater functionality including the 25P image capture for film-like images in progressive mode, as well as time lapse capture and cache recording capabilities.
